OUR CORE CURRICULUM

KIKIFER’S Academy’s core curriculum provides students with academics, reading practice, critical thinking and applicable skill sets they can apply in real world settings. This curriculum focuses on reading development and progresses through high school, giving students a solid foundation for pursuing their life goals. Students who are more skilled may progress at a faster rate or may accelerate in the areas of their academic strengths. Students who are not as skilled are encouraged to do their best and to work at their levels of proficiency and proceed at their own pace. Each core subject consists of 12 text books per grade. Typical students work daily in one text book in each subject and may be performing at varying levels. Each student enrolling at KEA is required to take an academic assessment helping to identify academic gaps and prescribe a customized academic  path to help students catch up.

CORE CURRICULUM CLASSES

ENTREPRENEURIAL FOCUS

Every Student who attends KEA from Kindergarten to 12th grade MUST start a small business and MUST generate revenue from that business. Students also learn basic economic skills such as the importance of credit, financial literacy, and investing in the stock market, to name a few. 

BLACK HISTORY

All Students are required to take Black History Courses which include projects throughout the year. This subject is important because it typically is left out of public education and helps students gain esteem, pride and self-value based on the rich history of Black Excellence. 

BOOK PUBLISHING

KEA students are required to take an authorship course for duration of the school year; culminating with them publishing one book of their own per year.

TUTORING

KEA offers individualized tutoring, for in-person and virtual students, base on the needs of each student. Our teachers and staff also aid in assisting those students with special needs such as ADHD, High Functioning Autism, or an IEP.

SEATING IS LIMITED

Seating is limited for students who are  Illinois - In-State Residents, or National - Out-of-State residents. Our Illinois home state and National students enjoy the same benefits and dedication to excellence, just from a different perspective, either in person or virtually.
